Abstract
The talk discusses adding Ethernet connectivity to Android. It provides background on the speaker and an overview of Android’s networking architecture, including the kernel, libraries, daemons and services that manage networking. It describes how existing connection types like WiFi, Bluetooth and mobile networks integrate. The main topic is bringing Ethernet support to Android by implementing a Connectivity Manager for Ethernet to allow it to be managed similarly to other connection types. Requirements for enterprise devices that would use Ethernet are also covered.
